My Story
I am Arman Ameri Mahani, an Indo-Persian musician, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and guide of Singing meditation and Care Musician.
For me, music has always been both an art form and a way of supporting human well-being. I have always felt that these two aspects should grow together: the search for musical beauty and the ability of music to nurture our inner life. Music, for me, is a way of exploring the human inner world, connecting with subtle emotional states, and cultivating awareness, presence, and balance.
My musical journey began with Iranian ethnic and Sufi music, deeply influenced by the rich mystical traditions of Iran. These traditions shaped my understanding of music as more than artistic expression — as a path of inner exploration and transformation.
I later travelled to India to study Dhrupad, an ancient form of Indian classical music rooted in Nada Yoga, the yoga of sound and vibration. Through this tradition, I discovered a deeper relationship between musical expression, attentive listening, and inner presence. It also helped me find a balance between musical aesthetics and the more subtle, contemplative dimensions of music.
In 2022, I moved to the Netherlands to study a Master of Music in New Audiences and Innovative Practice (NAIP). During this time, I further developed my work in Meditative Raga Singing and Attentive Listening, bringing together my experience in Indian and Persian musical traditions with meditation, embodied practice, and contemporary approaches to working with audiences.
Today, this practice is at the heart of my professional work. I share it through performances, workshops, private sessions, and community-based projects, creating spaces where people can not only listen to and learn music, but also experience it as a practice of expression, connection, presence, and inner exploration.
My work is guided by curiosity, sensitivity, and a belief that music can create meaningful connections — within ourselves, between people, and across different cultures.
