An interactive workshop and performance based on ancient knowledge
This is for you if you're looking to release stress, deepen your mindfulness practice, or explore meditation in a new, musically enriched way. Whether you own a yoga or retreat center, a meditation studio, or run a company seeking innovative ways to help your employees manage tension and cultivate mindfulness, I can assist. If you're interested in offering creative, music-infused meditation to youth or want to practice musical meditation in the comfort of your own space, you’re the perfect audience.
No prior skills or singing abilities are required. We don’t use any specific language or technique. All you need is enthusiasm for this practice and a willingness to follow the guide.
In 2015, I began designing special sessions that use music to promote meditation, mindfulness, and relaxation. This idea emerged as my future career path, but I faced difficulties in Iran. Driven by a desire to learn more about music's impact on mental health and mindfulness, I traveled to India and lived there to practice Dhrupad music.
Dhrupad music is based on Nada Yoga, a form of yoga that focuses on the relationship between sound vibrations and the body. This music is deeply rooted in the Ragas and embodies both artistic and spiritual dimensions. In 2022, I moved to the Netherlands to further research and design Meditative Raga Singing and Attentive Listening sessions. Over the past two years, I have developed this practice into my professional focus, presenting it in various formats to diverse audiences.
In my practice, I employ the ancient techniques of Nada Yoga and chanting, alongside the Dhrupad method, using Ragas as tools for singing and meditation. My performances go beyond entertainment, fostering attentive listening and an inner connection.
I am very happy to have the opportunity to present my work for people who want to live a healthier, more fulfilling life and find a deep connection with their inner world.
Am I Able to Sing?
Learning Meditative Singing is like learning to swim for the first time; it needs a teacher’s guidance. The teacher stays attentive while gently allowing you to explore independently, helping your subconscious mind begin to learn. Just as swimming is an instinctive skill, singing shouldn’t be restricted by rigid rules. Instead, it should be approached as a practice for liberation, performed freely and effortlessly. With time and support, you will recall and develop this ability.
A Modern Practice Based on an Ancient Method
Everything begins with a single note. This practice is rooted in an ancient tradition—a profound code that has been obscured by modern complexities, causing its original essence to be lost. The remaining notes are like the petals of that initial note. These codes are deeply embedded in our genetic makeup. When we correctly perform the primary note, other notes naturally emerge, helping us understand their relationships and connections. This process establishes a foundation for the free movement in meditative singing, facilitating continuous progress. This skill can be used for mindfulness, spiritual growth, or stress relief, originating from ancient musical teaching methods in India.
This project is part of my master's research and aims to create a meditative musical environment for audiences. Rooted in the practice of Dhrupad and Nada Yoga, it integrates workshops and performances to provide an immersive musical experience through attentive listening and meditative singing.
Each session consists of three parts:
Attentive Listening: Audiences are guided to listen deeply and mindfully to the music, fostering a state of inner calm and awareness.
Meditative Singing: Participants engage in collective singing, exploring the spiritual and emotional depth of Ragas.
Live Performance: I conclude with a live performance that blends Indian classical and ethnic Iranian Sufi music, enhancing the meditative atmosphere.
As a specialist in these musical traditions, I design sessions that explore music's impact on well-being. My research focuses on creating environments conducive to meditative Raga singing and attentive listening, enhancing life quality.
Duration: Each session normally takes 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Participants: The number of participants depends on the size of the venue and the sound equipment. For small-scale sessions with a maximum of 15 people, I can conduct the session acoustically.
Pricing: The price of the workshop depends on the format requested by the customer, but the price for a session with all facilities included is 330 euros.
